The origin of the term Charoite comes from the Chara river which runs along the world's only deposit of this gem. The latter is located in Eastern Siberia. It results from the fusion between the minerals of the magma and those of the rocks decomposed by the pressure and heat of the latter. A faceted amethyst stone matches perfectly with the charoite stone
