Prehnite is a calcium and aluminum silicate that forms in the cracks of volcanic and metamorphic rocks, often in association with basalts and gabbros. Its orthorhombic crystal structure gives it a beautiful translucency and hues ranging from soft green to pale yellow, sometimes marbled with pearly reflections.
