Geodes to crack

Cristal du Lac

Geode of Morocco

Open these real geodes to see how stones are formed! Children of all ages will love the surprise of beautiful crystals hidden in the stone. These small, hollow geodes are made up of various forms of quartz. The inner core is usually of the crystalline variety, while the outer skin is made of quartz or microcrystalline agate.

They are formed by balls of volcanic gases which have cooled and formed hard outer coverings. The interior is mostly hollow with many crystals that formed when minerals and gases cooled.
