This gemstone cut from a quartz crystal, of exceptional transparency and brilliance, comes from the Cristal du Lac site, in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region.
Cristal du Lac extracts its Crystals in an artisanal way in quartzite faults crisscrossing the granite on the mountainside. The origin of these crystals goes back more than 250 million years.
About one in 500 stones has the qualities required to be a gemstone. Its transparency and brilliance are attributable to tiny intrusions of hematite, garnet and chrome giving it an adamantine shine.
