Labradorite no.327
The name labradorite comes from the place of its discovery, namely Labrador. It belongs to the group of calc-alkaline feldspars. It is a fascinating stone to look at because it has metallic reflections of bluish, yellow, green or red when moved in front of the light. This optical phenomenon is called labradorescence. It is used in gemology, but also for ornamental facade coverings. Its hardness is 7 on the Mohs scale.
